Attorney David Carmichael served as a former assistant state attorney in Highlands and Polk counties. He prosecuted complex criminal matters, and held the position of a Director of Special Prosecution upon leaving for private practice in 2000.
David became Board Certified as an Expert in Criminal Trial Law while a Prosecutor. With over 250 Civil, Domestic and Criminal trials completed to date, David is one of the most experienced trial attorneys in the Circuit. He has shared his hard-earned courtroom experience educating others; including training young lawyers, working as a police academy instructor and as a certified criminal justice instructor with the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. He has spent 20 years an adjunct professor of law at Webber International University.
David focuses on complex litigation issues, Pre-and Post-trial Motions and difficult discovery issues, and is used to multi-week trials involving expert witnesses and requiring precise courtroom execution.
Active in his community, he serves on the Heartland for Children’s Board of Directors and is a former Chairman of the American Cancer Society Relay for Life. He is a Leader and Committee Chairman for the Boy Scouts of American, and is also active in his church as a choir member and deacon. Attorney David Carmichael is also a founding member of the Florida Prosecuting Attorney’s Associations Sex Crimes Network.
