Rich Lopez is bilingual, fluent in both Spanish and English.  He practices primarily in the firm's civil trial litigation department spending much of his time on defending the School Board of Polk County, Florida. 

Apart from his work with School Board, Rich represents clients in Foreclosure Defense and Mortgage Counseling matters.  He also represents clients in general civil litigation and practices in the fields of Real Property, Contract, and Municipal Law. 

Prior to joining Boswell & Dunlap, Rich worked for Marriott Vacation Club International as the Manager of Customer Relations and then went on to become a Project Manager.  Just prior to entering law school, Rich worked as a Commercial Real Estate Agent in Lakeland, Florida.  He grew up in Lakeland and currently resides in Bartow with his wife Marti, their daughter, and twin sons.

Rich is a member of the Florida Bar, the American Bar Association, the Lakeland Bar Association, and the Tampa Bay Hispanic Bar Association.  He is admitted to practice in all Florida state courts and the United States District Court for the Middle District of Florida.

Rich completed his undergraduate degree at Troy University in Troy, Alabama earning his B.S. Degree in Physical Science, with minors in Biology and Psychology in 1992.  He earned his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas M. Cooley Law School in Michigan in 2007.
